Prof. Lin’s research areas are mainly in Condensed Matter Physics and Computational Physics including plasmonics, high pressure studies, entanglement and quantum phase transition, magnetism and superconductivity, electron spins in semiconductor quantum dots as well as numerical technique development.
Prof. Lin was elected PSHK Honorary Member in 2023, “for his significant contributions to computational condensed matter physics, to physics in Hong Kong as the Chairperson of Department of Physics, CUHK, and to Physical Society of Hong Kong as its President.” He was the President of PSHK between 2009 and 2011.
